Is this really free for me? Yes. CoreEthos is paid by the practice, not the candidate. You will never pay us a dollar — for temp shifts, for permanent placement, for anything.

Do I have to leave my current job to apply? No. A lot of our hygienists and DAs use temp shifts to bridge income while they’re still in their main job, then transition out when they’re ready. We work on your timeline, not ours.

Are temp shifts W-2 or 1099? Our temp shifts are 1099 — you’re paid per shift as an independent contractor. The upside: typically higher gross hourly than equivalent W-2 work, total flexibility on which shifts you take, and the ability to write off business expenses (mileage, scrubs, license fees, CE) at tax time. Heads up: with 1099 you’re responsible for your own self-employment taxes, so plan to set aside roughly 25–30% of each payment for taxes. We’re happy to walk you through what that looks like before you take your first shift.

Will my current employer find out I’m looking? Not from us. We never share your info with an office without your explicit permission. Your search is confidential.

What happens if I take a permanent role and it’s not the right fit? We re-place you at no cost. We do 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins after you start, and if something is off, we’ll work to fix it with the office or move you somewhere better.
